According to Circle Officer Ram Mohan Sharma. when the police team was patrolling Morna village area and spotted the residents gathered outside, Police asked the villagers to follow the prohibitory orders ., those villagers asking for food and then they started pelting stones at the police personnel and some of them even started attacking the officials with iron roads, Sharma added .
The incident took place under Bhopa police station limits in which outpost incharge SI Lekh Raj Singh and constable Ravi Kumar sustained serious injuries, the officer said.
‘Police is dedicatedly engaged to make lockdown successful. Police was doing its work with full fidelity when the attack happened. Strict actions will be taken against the attackers,’ SSP Abhishek Yadav said.
Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar Azaad said, the attack against the police personnel is unfortunate. Strict actions should be taken against the guilty but the innocent should not suffered he added
The injured policemen were rushed to the district hospital and three villagers, including a former village head, have been arrested, he said
The security in the village has been tightened and search for the remaining attackers is underway, the officer added.
