Clashes erupted in several parts of Srinagar after three militants were killed in a gunfight in the Zoonimar area of the summer capital.
 
Mobile internet services were snapped in the city early morning on Sunday and restriction on the movement was placed in several parts.
 
Young men took to the streets in several parts of Srinagar, including Noushera and Soura, and threw stones on the government forces.
 
In retaliation, the government forces fired metal pellets and teargas, locals media KashmirWalla reported[splco_spacer]

Inspector-General of Police, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar said on Sunday that two of the three militants have been identified while the identity of the third militant was being ascertained.
 
Among the killed militants, the police has identified Shakoor Farooq Langoo, a resident of Qamarwari, Srinagar.
 
“He was involved in the killing of two BSF men at Soura and had also snatched their weapons.
 
There were other militants also involved, but Shakoor was the one who had fired at BSF men,” Mr. Kumar said.
 
Another was identified as Shahid Ahmed Bhat, a resident of Bijbehara.
