In a shocking incident, the cabin pressure of a Jet Airways Mumbai-Jaipur flight dropped, resulting in nose bleeding and ear pain among several passengers on Thursday morning.

Jet Airways flight 9W 697 going from Mumbai to Jaipur had to return to Mumbai on Thursday morning. The flight commenced from Mumbai at 5.50 AM but had to return to the city after an hour and had an emergency landing.

According to DGCA sources, the crew members forgot to select bleed switch due to which cabin pressurisation couldn’t be maintained. The cockpit crew has been derostered, pending investigation, said Jet Airways.

The passengers were massively inconvenienced owing to this. According to DNA sources, 30 passengers had nose bleeding.

Some passengers even had blood coming out of their ears. Some complained of a severe headache. Finally left with no option, the pilot decided to turn the flight back and return to Mumbai. The emergency landing was done safely.

In total, there were 166 passengers and 30 of them fell ill. They are currently being treated in a Mumbai hospital.

Jet Airways in a statement said, ” The flight’s cockpit crew has been taken off scheduled duties pending investigation. The airline is making alternative flight arrangements for guests on this flight.

However, the 9W 697  aircraft, with 166 guests and 5 crew landed normally in Mumbai. All guests were deplaned safely and taken to the terminal. First aid was administered to few guests who complained of ear pain, bleeding nose etc.”
