Following the statement of Water Resource Minister D K Shivakumar that three Congress MLA are camping in Mumbai along with a few BJP MLAs for ‘Operation Lotus’, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, on Monday, claimed that all three MLAs are in contact with him.

Speaking to media persons, after taking part in the passing out parade of the 41st batch of Police Sub-Inspectors at the Police Parade Grounds here, Kumaraswamy said, “All three MLAs, who are in Mumbai, are in touch with me. They have brought about their visit to my notice. Around 7.30 am, I spoke to them over the phone. They have been to Mumbai for their personal work”.

He said, the BJP MLAs from the state, who are in Delhi, have been there to take part in their party executive meeting. Commenting on the BJP’s attempt to destabilise the government through ‘Operation Lotus’, Kumaraswamy said, “I have all the information about the BJP including how much efforts their leaders make to lure the coalition government MLAs.”

Shivakumar on Sunday said that Kumaraswamy is “not exposing” the saffron party over ‘Operation Lotus’.

He went on to say that Kumaraswamy was, in fact, being “lenient” towards the BJP, despite being aware of its attempts to destabilise the coalition government.

However, Yeddyurappa on Monday alleged that Kumaraswamy is trying to poach BJP MLAs by offering them huge money and ministership.

“We are not trying to poach Congress- JD(S) MLAs. Chief Minister Kumaraswamy has been approaching the BJP MLAs. The CM is offering huge money and ministership to them, Yeddyurappa said.
