Amit Shah son is BCCI secretary and Ganguly meets Amit Shah for first time

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly, who is set to take charge as the head of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Tuesday spoke about his meeting with BJP President Amit Shah a day before he emerged as the lone contender in the race to be BCCI president.
After Ganguly met Shah, the rumours of the former India crickter joining the ruling party in India started doing the rounds.
There were speculations about a deal between Ganguly and Shah over the BCCI presidentship in return of the former representing the BJP in Bengal for elections in 2021.
However, Ganguly has rubbished all such reports, saying, there was no political development in his meeting with Union Home Minister.
“I met Amit Shah for the first time ever. Neither did I ask a question on BCCI, whether I was going to get a post or not, nor any discussion of you will only get this if you agree to that’ happened. There is no political development.”
“I’ve heard these political questions before too when I met Mamata didi, the chief minister of West Bengal,” Ganguly told reporters.
“I did not decide who will be BCCI President. BCCI has its own election process for it,” Amit Shah said.
When asked about Sourav Ganguly meeting Amit Shah, the home minister said, “He can come see me. I have been associated with cricket for years. There is no harm in Sourav Ganguly meeting me.”
Sourav Ganguly is set to take charge as the head of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after he filed his nomination for the top post for the elections to be held on October 23.
BJP Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah is set to become the secretary while Anurag Thakur’s brother Arun Dhumal will hold the position of treasurer of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
“Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah will be secretary and BJP Center Miniter Anurag Thakur’s brother Arun Dhumal is set to become treasurer of the BCCI,” a source close to one of the top members of cricket association in BCCI said.
