Videos showed that there was chaos at PM Modi’s rally when people started entering the D-Zone and crossing bamboo barricades. Several people were injured and rushed to the Thakurnagar hospital.

BJP leaders alleged that police personnel were missing from the venue. BJP leaders claimed that police were not on hand to bring the situation under control.

Speaking later in Durgapur, he said: “There was a lot of enthusiasm during my rally in Thakurnagar, and I think the ground was filled twice its capacity, I would like to apologise for the discomfort the people went through.”
