State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamilnadu Ltd (SIPCOT) was established in the year 1971 to develop industrial growth in Tamilnadu.
Sharing the blueprint of the new park J Kumaragurubaran, managing director, SIPCOT expressed confidence that the new park would be ready in another 6 to 9 months as the preliminary works, including approach roads through state highways and the master planning works, have commenced.

Following that Enquiries have started coming in,” J Kumaragurubaran, said
“Last week, environmental clearance for polluting and non-polluting industries was obtained for the industrial park at Manallur and Soorapoondi villages of Gummidipoondi taluk.
“Gummidipoondi industrial park is already full and the nearby Sri City promoted by Andhra Pradesh is also full.
For business captains looking for new ventures and expansion, the Manallur site would be ideal and cost-effective,” Kumaragurubaran said.
“Plots ranging from 2 acres to 10 acres would be made available at competitive rates when compared to neighbouring states.
Pharma and e-vehicles are the sectors that have the potential to flourish in Tamil Nadu,” he added.
“Previous industrial estates developed by the SIPCOT in the vicinity of Chennai, including Irungattukottai, Sriperumbudur, Oragadam, Vallam Vadagal, Pillaipakkam, Gummidipoondi and Thervoykandigai, have been fully allotted and there is a need for augmenting industrial space for attracting new industries as well as the expansion of existing industries.
Buoyed by the success of attracting industrial investments worth over Rs 18,000 crore during the coronavirus induced lockdown, the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) , Tamilnadu State had also acquired large tracts of land near the Manallur site, for Phase 2 expansion,” Kumaragurubaran added.
