An all-party meeting on the Pulwama terror attack has started here on February 16
 
The all-party meeting has strongly condemned Thursday’s dastardly terror attack in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir and expressed support to the government in its fight against terrorism.
 
The meeting held in New Delhi condemned terrorism in all its forms and the support being given to it from across the border.
 
In a resolution, the meeting said terrorism in India is being actively encouraged by the forces across the border and India has displayed both firmness and resilience in dealing with these challenges.
 
The Home Minister, who chaired the meeting said the government has given a freehand to the Security Forces to deal with terrorists and their perpetrators.
 
Rajnath Singh said, the government has followed a policy of zero tolerance against terrorism from the beginning and the cowardly attack on CRPF personnel reflects desperation among terrorists.
 
The Minister briefed the political parties about his visit to Srinagar yesterday and said, the morale of the Security Forces is high and they expressed resolve to continue the fight against terrorism till its logical conclusion.
 
The Home Minister said, a vast majority of people of Jammu and Kashmir are peace-loving but there are certain elements in the state who are in league with the terrorist groups operating from across the border.
 
He said, the sacrifices made by the Security Forces will not go in vain and the country is united in its fight against terrorism.
 
The Minister said, government is determined to root out terrorism from the soil. Mr Singh said this meeting has sent a message to the global community that the country, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, speaks in one voice on matters of national interest. He said the Centre will provide all possible assistance to the families of martyrs.
 
Briefing media later, Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said all parties expressed their support to the government in its fight against terrorism.
 
He said Mr. Rajnath Singh stated that government is committed to rid Jammu and Kashmir of terror and violence.
 
Talking to media, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said they stand with the government for unity and security of the nation and security forces. He said the entire nation is in mourning today and is angry.
 
The meeting convened by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who was in Kashmir on February 15 to take stock of the situation, is being attended by Ghulam Nabi Azad, Anand Sharma and Jyotiraditya Scindia of the Congress, Sudip Bandyopadhyay and Derek O’Brien of the TMC, Sanjay Raut of the Shiv Sena, Jithendra Reddy of the TRS, D Raja of the CPI, Farooq Abdullah of the National Conference, Ram Vilas Paswan of the LJP among others.
