Dr Umapati Dwivedi, Chief Medical Officer, who tried to imitate Prime Minister Modi was suspended after the video in which he can be seen washing the feet of a sanitation worker went viral.
It all began when Dwivedi called one of the sanitation worker at the hospital to his home. The CMO then washed the worker’s feet.
A video of the incident was recorded by one of Umapati’s acquaintance and after it was shared on the social media, it went viral in no time.
Interestingly both CMO wore same bright lemon yellow kurta during the event and , the cleaner whose feet the CMO washed, was not paid salary for months by the government it was told . The reason for Dwivedi’s suspension has reportedly been that the CMO took no effective steps to ensure that the worker receives his due salary. In his place, Dr Pritam Mishra has been posted as the new CMO.
Two weeks before Modi washed the feet of five sanitation workers in Prayagraj . However, the opposition parties had seen it as a poll move to reach out to the Dalit communities.
It is not known whether Dr Umapati Dwivedi act is to appreciate Modi’s effort or to tease Prime Minster . But by the way the BJP ruled State Government in Uttar Pradesh didn’t take light of the developments and with the stringent action swiftly taken it can assumed CMO could be sarcastic on PM action observed Political analysts in Social Media
