Kejriwal demanded that the accused and all the politicians shielding them should be hanged in three months. The AAP leader said that the minor girls were subjected to inhuman treatment. He said that the Bihar government did not take note of the incident despite being apprised about it frequently.

The apathy of the authorities is indicative of the fact that the accused are connected to those occupying the high offices in state. The Delhi CM alleged that leaders of several party leaders are involved in the incident.

Allegations that 34 minor girls were raped for months in Muzaffarpur shelter home triggered a political storm. The girls aged between 7 and 17 alleged that they were raped and sexually assaulted repeatedly in the home owned by Brajesh Thakur.

Most of the girls suffer from speech impairment. Police said that the girls were sedated and raped. Thakur who is known to have political connections ran three newspapers.

The case came to light when Bihar’s social welfare department filed an FIR based on a social audit of the shelter home, conducted by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai (TISS).

FIRs were filed on May 31 and July 29 in connection with the case, while the shelter home was sealed on June 14.
