During the shoot of the mega budget Rajnikanth and Akshay performing 2.0, On Wednesday, the team has been busy shooting for the film in the main junction of Triplicane, Chennai at peak hours, and the roads were blocked due to shooting and when S R Raghunathan, a photojournalist with English daily, and Sri Barath, a photojournalist from a Tamil daily, questioned the crew members, they were manhandled by them.
The 2.0 crew has got permission to shoot only at night, but they overturned the permission and continued to shoot during the day as well. When there were asked about it, they were beaten by the crew members.
Photo Journalist Quoting that incident said, “When we asked if it was proper to inconvenience public by blocking roads especially during (morning) peak hour, two crew members used foul language against us and we were beaten up".
Subsequent to this journalists have filed police complaint at the Ice House police station asking to take proper action on the crew members.
Sensing issue taking serious turn Shankar personally met them and apologised for the incident. later Shankar talking to media said, “I always ensured that my film shoots never paralysed normal life of people. But this incident is an exception. I will make sure that such acts by the film crew will not happen in future".
The Film hero Rajinikanth was not present at the time of the incident.
