Bharatiya Janata Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Subramaniam Swamy on Thursday came down heavily on the his own party Modi government, stating that it had failed in nearly every aspect of governance.
His statement came just a day after he met West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee.
He said that the Modi government had failed in the fields of economy and border security.
He called the Centre’s handling of the Afghanistan crisis a ‘fiasco’. He also seemed to blame the Union government for the Pegasus data security breach.
On internal security, he said Kashmir was in a state of ‘gloom’ under the present government.
On Wednesday, he praised West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, comparing her with the likes of political stalwarts like Jayaprakash Narayan, Morarji Desai, Rajiv Gandhi, Chandrashekhar, and P V Narasimha Rao.
He tweeted that she “meant what she said and said what she meant”. “In Indian politics that is a rare quality,” he said.
Of late, Subramanian Swamy has been critical of the Modi government on social media. “
If China is not afraid of our nuclear weapon why are we afraid of their’s?” he tweeted on November 23.
A day before, he replied to a Twitter user’s comment on the price rise, saying: “ he [PM Narendra Modi] does not know economics.
The same day, he said the Modi government was full of simpletons.
“India has a bad patch in the MEA and NSA, sleeping while China gobbled our territory.
Even these people who have let Bharat Mata down are not willing to call a spade a spade China is an aggressor. Modi govt is full of simpletons who could not guess Xi after 18 one to one meets,” he tweeted.
