From the released DMK list one can infer DMK try to do minimise heirs seats by limiting to three but did a daring act by projecting with 57 new faces that is almost 1/3rd of its contesting seat but poorly down with 7% in women representation

Prominent among them would be DMK propaganda secretary Thanga Tamilselvan, who quit the AMMK and joined a couple of years ago.
Tamilselvan has been pitted against AIADMK coordinator cum deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam in Bodinaickenur constituency.
Former AIADMK minister and incumbent district in charge Senthil Balaji, who was the first to jump ship from AMMK, has been fielded against State Transport Minister M R Vijayabaskar in Karur constituency.
Dr Lakshmanan, a former MP of AIADMK, who had joined DMK last year, would be daring state law minister C Ve Shanmugham in Villupuram.
SK Vedarathinam, a former BJP state vice president, who joined the DMK last year, has been given Vedaranyam ticket, where he had once contested as an independent candidate and secured around 40,000 votes.
Erstwhile AIADMK strongman Raja Kannappan, who had joined the DMK around a year ago, has been rewarded with Mudhukulathur seat in Ramanathapuram.
Secretary of newly created DMK Environment Wing and well known Jallikattu activist, Karthikeya Sivasenapathy of Kangeyam would dare state local administration minister S P Velumani in the latter’s bastion Thondamuthur in Coimbatore.
On the Heirs list who got ticket inclusive DMK President Stalin fielded his son Udhayanidhi in Chepauk – Triplicane segment, sitting MLA-sons of seniors like treasurer TR Baalu and deputy general secretary I Periasamy .
Other heir aspirants who lost in the race inclusive of sons of principal secretary KN Nehru, district secretaries EV Velu and MRK Panneerselvam.

On minority representation DMK has given 5 seats to its Muslim religious alliance partners and on its own fielded 3 candidates and in total it means 8 seats to Muslims and also DMK allocated 4 seats to minority Christians

However one area Opposition may train guns on DMK candidates’ list is its lack of representation of women. This is due to the fact that is only 12 of the 173 DMK candidates were women.
The dozen women also include prominent faces like deputy general secretary Subbulakshmi Jagadeesan, who would be in the poll fray after long in the Modakurichi Assembly segment. Thought DMK , which is a vocal supporter of 33% reservation for women has slipped down in MLA candidate list in 2021 but DMK did not disappoint new comers and 57 new faces are prompted in and this constitute 33% in the i DMK 173 List
Out of present 97 Sitting MLAs , 82 were given seats that constitutes 47% in nut shell
9 Sitting DMK MLAs were literally denied seats but due to Constituency shuffle amongst alliance 6 other sitting MLAs lost nomination for DMK seats.
Prominent among them is actor turned Politician Vagai Chandrasekar who commends goodwill in his Velacherry constituency but DMK allocated Velachery constituency to its alliance partner Congress .
