Tripathi said that the employee responsible for the incident has been removed as he did not follow set protocols.
Thousands of migrants from eastern and southern states have been arriving at the railway station in Lucknow since the Ministry of Home Affairs permitted interstate travel for people stranded due to the Covid-19 lockdown across the country.
Around 60 to 70 buses are plying people to different districts from each train that comes in and the buses are routinely being sanitised during which Tuesday’s incident took place.
More than a month ago, a similar incident from UP’s Bareilly had generated outrage.
A viral video showed more than two dozen migrant workers sitting on the streets as sanitation workers wearing protective gear sprayed disinfectants on the workers.
