Another self-proclaimed Godman is facing a serious charges of exploiting a woman.

The self-styled godman in question is Kaushlendra Prapanacharya Phalahari Maharaj in Rajasthan and the woman he is alleged to have sexually exploited is from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh, police said.

The 21-year-old woman alleged in her complaint the 70-year-old ‘godman’ sexually exploited her at his ashram in Rajasthan’s Alwar on 7 August.

Phalahari Maharaj, Hindu religion Saint is currently undergoing a treatment in Alwar, where the cops intend to question him after receiving permission from the doctors. According to police, the accused baba frequently visited the woman at her house and on 7 August, she had visited the ashram to donate some money when she was allegedly sexually exploited.

Archana Jha, DSP, Bilaspur said, “family is a disciple of Phalahari baba and the victim woman had got an internship after completing her law studies. She visited the ashram on August 7 to donate some money as per her family advice.

When she went to meet him he told her to wait and then raped and threatened her. The parents came to us after the woman told them everything and we registered a case”.

“Bilaspur police have sent the complaint here. We have registered a case of sexual exploitation and initiated investigation,” SHO Aravali police station said to reporters.

It is to be noted that Last month, Gurmeet Singh in Haryana was sentenced to 20 years in jail for raping two of his followers.
