Congress president Rahul Gandhi chaired a meeting of the Congress Working Committee on Friday, his first after becoming the party president, and hit out at the BJP, saying the “whole architecture” of the party was about lies.
Reacting to the special CBI court verdict that acquitted former telecom minister A Raja and others in the 2G scam, Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Friday said that the truth of the scam has come out. Addressing media after a meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), Gandhi said, “Everyone knows about 2G, the truth has come out in front of you. It is a vindication of our stand”.
Coming out after the meeting, Rahul Gandhi hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah over various issues, including the Rafale deal, GST and demonetisation.
“What is going on is the stealing of resources of the people. That’s their design. The whole architecture of BJP is about lies, the whole structure is about lies. And one by one, the lies are coming out,” he told reporters.
“The Rafale deal is changed, a businessman is given a reward, procedure is not followed. We asked three questions, the Prime Minister can’t answer.
“Why is PM Narendra Modi silent on allegations relating to the Rafale deal,” he asked.
“You talk of 2G... whether you look at the Modi model or the promise of Rs 15 lakh in every bank account... demonetisation, Gabbar Singh Tax... everything is a lie,” he said.
“If you see the Modi model in Gujarat, it was a clear lie. When we went to Gujarat, the people said there is no model, they said what is going on is stealing of people’s resources.”
Criticising BJP chief Amit Shah over financial irregularities of a firm linked to his son Jay Shah, Gandhi said, “Amit Shah’s son converted Rs 50,000 into Rs 80 crore in 3 months… Our PM has nothing to say about it.”
